“Here it Goes Again” – Predators @ Blackhawks

Gametime: 6 PM

TV/Radio: WGN, 720 AM

Know thy enemy: On the Forecheck

“I guess there’s got to be a break in the monotony, but Jesus, when it rains how it pours.”

I guess yesterday wasn’t all bad. The Hawks beat the trap for most of the night and getting the first goal forced the Preds to open up a bit to get some offense going.

Expect tonight to be much of the same as last night.  If the Preds score first tonight, expect them to shut it down offensively and kill all offense and joy in the UC.

Notes:

  • Hjalmarsson, the Swedish Chef, was left off Sweden’s Olympic team.  I’m pretty happy about it.  Let’s keep him healthy, rested, and under the radar. Last thing we need is for his value to skyrocket from shutting down the world’s best offenses.
  • Probably see the same lineup tonight, possibly with Niemi in net.
  • The Hawks, Ice Hogs, and Walleye swept the Nashville NHL, AHL, and ECHL teams last night.
  • Hopefully Buff’s goal doesn’t make Coach Q think the powerplay is working.  Scoring on Nashville is different from scoring on a top-tier PK.
